This is the club. The potter’s club. All kind of different techniques to works with clay will be taught in this class. (Offered only for session I, II and III)
Team Games
If you like sports and games, this class is for you! Dodge ball, kickball, volleyball, new games and favorite games and will keep you and your teammates on the ball.
Jazz/Hip-Hop Dance
Get your groove on! Enjoy "street style" Hip-Hop and jazz movement and appreciate the various ethnic and cultural influences that jazz brings to life.
Food go Global
This class will travel round-the world as we savor the multi-cultural delicacies of different nations. Come join us in this delicious journey.
CASA Musical
Take part in a large-scale Broadway-style production. Under the guidance of a talented group of theater artists/teachers, campers participate in acting, dance, voice, and music as well as costume, prop and set design. Auditions will be held at the start of the program. The performance will be held at the end of the six-week session at our Arts Festival on July 23, 2009 at 6:30pm and July 24, 2009 at Noon. Extra rehearsals during Festival Period and after camp may be needed. Campers will need to take this double-period class (period 3 & 4) for six weeks if they would like to participate. (This class is designed for campers entering 3rd – 7th grade). (Offered only for session I, II and III)
Pottery Studio
Master the art of hand-building, wheel throwing, and glazing techniques in a small group setting.
Shakespeare Workshop
Who says classical acting has to be uptight? Our Shakespeare Workshop breathes new life into timeless, centuries-old comedies and tragedies by concentrating on diction, expressive delivery, and lively modern interpretation. (Offered only for session IV)
Dance Around the World
Learn to dance the merengue, salsa, waltz, cha-cha, tarantella… and many other dances around the world. (Offered only for session I, II and III)
Water Mania
Splish-splash! Cool down with water games. All games will be played on the playground in good weather.
Painting
Paint, paint and paint. This class will cover a lot of painting techniques and inspirations.
Lego Land
In this class students will be presented with a weekly building challenge. Their teacher will help them learn how to visualize parts of the whole to achieve an efficient construction.
The Mad Scientist
Imagine the wizardry you can conjure up in the laboratories of CASA. We’re not exactly Hogwarts, but you’ll learn potions and scientific tricks that will amaze your friends. (Offered only for session I, II and III)
Digital Media
Picture this: using digital cameras and Photoshop software, campers will learn to manipulate images and create flier and posters. What a great skill for election year!
Sewing Time
Fashionistas! Cut your clothing costs in half when you learn to sew by hand and with a sewing machine. You’ll be amazed by your handiwork. (Offered only for session IV.)
